Evolution of a brand

The creation of VoltNow has been quite an interesting journey. In a very short period of time, we've recruited a great team and developed several innovative products from scratch. Not to mention, all the administrative tasks it takes to actually start a business.

As with any bootstrapped start-up business, there is quite a bit of risk involved and numerous obstacles to overcome. What keeps us going is passion. Passion for our customers and passion for our products we create. We wanted to instill this sense of passion into our brand.

When we started VoltNow, we were focused on building a consumer electronics brand. We had a goal of creating great products that would help customers stay connected in innovative ways. A lot of time was spent researching battery technology, wireless charging and engineering. As the months went on, we started to realize that battery technology was highly commoditized with significant margin pressures from the flood of great tech accessories.

After just six months, we realized that our wallets were not deep enough to truly bring to fruition all of our innovative ideas and concepts. We also realized that we were straying from our original passion and purpose. We were starting to overly obsess over product functionality and features rather than designing products that would empower customers to stay connected. This is a subtle difference but is the difference between building a product-centric consumer electronics brand as opposed to a customer-centric lifestyle brand.

So call this a pivot or a re-invention of the brand but you will start to see a product evolution. Less emphasis on features and gadgets and more on digital life benefits and design. So join us on this journey as we continue to develop and refine VoltNow. We have some exciting products being developed that we hope you will love as much as we do.

There are thousands of choices to serve a functional need but a truly well designed product resonates with a user in a way that truly delights.
